Why are trips on a weekday?
Currently, our trips take place on Thursdays, click here to be forwarded to our waiver/ registration form that has our list of dates/ times available. If weekdays are not convenient for you, there is the possibility for organizing group trips on weekends. Feel free to email us for more information: info@spearheadprojectearth.org
Can an individual volunteer or only a group?
We welcome both individuals and groups to join us for an outing to Burlington Island. If you're coming solo, rest assured that individuals will fit right in seamlessly. For larger groups, we recommend reaching out in advance to ensure we can accommodate everyone interested.
What time is the cleanup?
The cleanup times vary due to the tides of the Delaware River, so please reference the available days & times in our waiver/ registration form here.
What should I expect on this trip to Burlington Island?
Initially, we gather at the designated pickup point. Following that, we navigate by boat to the assigned cleanup spot on Burlington Island to collect recyclables. Afterwards, we enjoy our complimentary lunch before embarking on a guided walk to appreciate the island's natural beauty. Finally, we reconvene at the opposite end of the trail to return you to the original pickup location.
Do children under 18 need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian?
Yes, children under 18 need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone.
Can groups larger than 10 be accommodated?
Yes! We can accommodate groups larger than 10 with advanced notice.
Where is the meeting spot?
There are two meeting spots or pickup locations. The Burlington Municipal Boat Ramp next to Curtins Wharf and the Bristol Wharf next to the riverfront park.
