PENNIES PER POUND FUNDRAISING
The "Pennies Per Pound" fundraiser is a collaborative effort that engages volunteers, including the Scouts BSA and various other organizations, in raising funds by participating in clean-up activities around the Delaware River. Participants begin by securing sponsorships from friends, family, or local businesses, who pledge a set amount for every pound of trash and recyclables collected during their scheduled cleanup. As volunteers venture out with their groups to gather litter, the more waste they collect, the greater the funds they can potentially raise, up to the donation ceiling established by their sponsors. Upon tallying the total weight of collected items, volunteers can approach their sponsors to collect the pledged donations based on their accomplishments. The success of the initiative is amplified by volunteers who secure more sponsors, consequently increasing the financial support for their respective organizations.
